Experiencing Hanbok at Gyeongbokgung Palace

No trip to Korea is complete without experiencing the elegance of Hanbok and feeling like a Joseon princess for a day. On a lovely morning before the heat set in, I headed to Gyeongbokgung Palace to try on Hanbok, the traditional Korean dress.

Amazing Gyeongbokgung

Hanbok Rental at 한복남 Hanboknam

1. Traditional Hanbok - ₩15,000 (2 hours 30 minutes)

2. Themed Hanbok - ₩30,000 (2 hours 30 minutes)

3. Bag - ₩2,000

4. Hair Styling - ₩1,000~3,000

I highly recommend choosing the Traditional Hanbok. It's much cheaper and just as beautiful! The service at Hanboknam was excellent, and the hair styling added an extra touch of authenticity to the experience.

Traditional Hanbok

Wearing Hanbok allowed me free entry into Gyeongbokgung Palace, a stunning historical site with countless photo-worthy spots. The palace’s grandeur and the intricate details of the architecture made every corner a perfect backdrop for photos. Walking through the palace grounds in my Hanbok, I truly felt transported back in time, embodying the grace and elegance of a Joseon-era princess. The vibrant colors and flowing lines of the Hanbok harmonized beautifully with the palace’s traditional aesthetic.
